A review of the impact on the land

VWVulcan Energy of Canada, Ltd. (VWV), is in the early phases of developing a coal bed methane (CBM) project between Campbell River and Nanaimo.

Project will involve the drilling and completing of approximately 500 CBM wells (water wells at the outset) and installing a gas gathering system over a period of five to six years.

VWV believes that the coal reserves contain between 0.5 TCF and 1.0 TCF of net recoverable CBM on the Tsable and Quinsam lands.

Methane,  commonly referred to as natural gas, will be pumped into Centra Gas’ distribution system for use by Vancouver Island homes, businesses and industry.

VWV  is strongly committed to preserving the environment and satisfying the local community’s needs.

VWV brings a strong management and technical team with experience both in CBM and coal operations.

Team members have developed, financed and are operating a $300 million coal property in the Powder River Basin (PRB) and two coal bed methane fields in the same basin.
