Founded in the early 1930's, Edgewood was the homestead of a number of families that still maintain deep roots in the community.
The traditional Edgewood area is 15 square
miles. It is 20 miles East of
Albuquerque on Interstate 40. It is 51
miles South of the City of Santa Fe, which is the county seat.
The town is located in the Southwestern corner of the County of Santa Fe.
Edgewood is
on the Eastern side of the Sandia Mountains and is protected from the desert heat.
Rapid growth as town is now well under way.
Interstate 40 cuts directly through town and is easily accessible in both directions.
This is particularly attractive to businesses. One major supermarket was
completed last year and another even larger unit of a national chain will be
completed by the winter of 1999. A second automobile dealership is under
construction.
